Mayweather vs Ortiz Live Stream - Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Victor Ortiz had a face off but not inside the ring yet, but on a talk show with famed boxing commentator Max Kellerman on HBO. On the latest installment of Face Off, the two fighters were out to promote their upcoming much awaited fight this September 17, 2011, which will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ortiz will be defending his WBC Welterweight Championship belt on the match up billed as Star Power.
There is a huge buzz surrounding their bout as Mayweather is set to make a comeback inside the ring after having been gone for quite some time now. Although he was inactive for more than a year, he is still considered as the biggest moneymaker in boxing today. And he will be facing off against a south paw, named Vicious Victor Ortiz who had just came from an upset win over Andre Berto earlier this year, and he is younger and bigger than Mayweather.
The three talked about their upcoming match up and why Mayweather picked somebody like Ortiz as his opponent on his highly anticipated comeback. Ortiz is one of the best up and coming boxers and is now seen as a future Hall of Fame out there on this generation and Mayweather thinks that it is just fitting to have him as his challenger. He has got everything to lose in this game as he has still remained undefeated after he had taken down some of the best of the best fighters in his generation, from Oscar de la Hoya and Juan Manuel Marquez to Shane Mosley.
Meanwhile, Ortiz still remained composed despite having been asked about his great loss with Marcos Maidona, who knocked him out back in 2009. But the 24-year old boxer’s confidence has taken up the notch after he had defeated Berto as an underdog. He was able to stand ground against Berto and took home the WBC Welterweight belt. And he is now training hard on his camp to do everything he can to become the first boxer to defeat Mayweather.
So watch out this September 17 as Mayweather and Ortiz are finally going to face off inside the ring for tough action packed showdown.
