Mayweather Is All Set And Ready For Ortiz

When Floyd Mayweather, Jr. announced on his official Twitter account that he is making his comeback, his fans got ecstatic that the 34-year old boxer will be returning inside the ring after having been missing for about 16 months. He posted that he will be facing off against Victor Ortiz for the title bout match as Ortiz will be defending his WBC Welterweight Championship belt. The fight will be held at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 17. The game is one of the most anticipated matchups and their preparation for the fight will be featured on the award-winning reality series 24/7 on HBO. This will be fifth time that Mayweather will be featured on the show and the first for Ortiz.

On the latest preview to promote 24/7: Mayweather vs. Ortiz, which will start airing on HBO this September 27, Mayweather shared that he is now training heavily on his camp and that he has been having a great time keeping himself in tip top form for his much-buzzed about comeback. He said, “Tremendous camp, great camp. The main thing is good work, solid competition, and solid work at camp. We train in Las Vegas, Nevada. We’re ready to go.” He is under the supervision of his uncle and trainer Roger Mayweather.

The cameras followed him on his hometown where the still undefeated boxer is training for the television series. He said that he is focused and is now all geared to face the 24-year old native of Kansas City. He added that he is not concerned at all to face against a boxer who is much bigger and younger than him and he does not even know where he is exactly training. The former number one pound for pound fighter said, “I don’t know exactly where Ortiz is training. I know he’s training in California. But wherever he’s training, I heard that it’s very boring.”

Then Mayweather commented that Ortiz has a rep for knocking out his opponents, with a record of having won 29 fights with 22 of them by KOs, but this Mayweather that it is Ortiz who will take the fall. He declared, “Victor Ortiz is a knockout artist. Come September 17, he better look forward to getting knocked out. Simple as that.”
